A card sort for twin-parents-to-be to explore possible time line of a vaginal twin birth. Cards are separated into three categories:
The activity will create one time line in words but is also shows what happens when to each person involved. This activity can be used in big or small groups and is also great for 1-2-1 sessions. To be shared with parents and parents-to-be to explore affirmations for labour, birth, breastfeeding and parenting before their babies are born. Invite parents to change, add or make their own affirmations for their own situations. Invite them to use these as inspiration or an example. Hormones and feelings - activity Print-your-own activity (pdf). Enabling parents to explore the relation between their feelings and their hormones. Using the 'feelings' cards to add to pictures or scenarios. Then turning them over to see which hormones these feelings are linked to will give participants a good idea how they might be feeling in certain places or situations. Includes instructions, 6 pages (6 cards each page) of positive feelings and 6 pages (6 cards each page) of negative feelings. 6 pages each of 'Adrenaline' and 'Oxytocin' cards to print on the back of the feelings cards. You'll also need: some prepared scenarios (stories, printed or telling them) or pictures of different birth environments. Neither of these are included. Your Birth Environment.
Updated to add a few more pictures, other pictures have been replaced. What is the 'Your Birth Environment' activity? Parents to select pictures to represent their ideal birth environment. Includes 4 blanc cards. If you laminate the cards, parents can draw/write additional ideas onto the blank cards with whiteboard markers. Could also be used as cards to trigger discussion about birth environment. Available in A4, A5 or A6. This activity has been updated and now contains 18 cards to enable facilitators to use them with groups of up to 18 people but also to offer more choice to the participants.
