How do you use labour bead lines

9/9/2017

Labour bead lines are used like a labour time line. You can ask participants to lable the stages and discuss the differences. Or you can add pictures of positions and self-help tools along the line to discuss what to try when.
What do the beads mean?
Each bigger bead us a contraction. Smaller beads at the beginning meaning mild contractions. Irregular at the beginning. Gaps getting shorter, contractions stronger. Knots or special shaped rigged beads are re[resenting the transition phase. The big special beads such as heart-shaped beads represent the birth of the baby and a smaller special bead at the end is the placenta.
When can I use a labour bead line?
Can be used in big, smaller groups or one-to-ones. In larger groups it may be beneficial to have two or three labour bead lines for parents-to-be to view, touch and work with. Most of my labour bead lines are also suitable for visual impaired parents as all the contraction beads are larger than the pause/break beads!

I have listened to your feedback and created an additional version of my successful labour time line banners. Some of you would prefer a version without the dilation pictures, so here we go! The pictures of the new labour time line banners are above.
To compare, the pictures of the labour time line banners with dilation pictures are below.

These labour time line banners are available in two sizes large (around 2.5m long) and small (about 1.5m long), for singleton and twin birth and with our without dilation pictures.

All banners are designed and professionally printed in the UK. Printed on durable PVC. You can wipe them or use them outdoors - if you wish ;)
